Actually, believe it or not, there are a few black Republicans out there. I don't understand why they would vote Republican, because it's certainly not in their best interests. I originally come from a small town in Arkansas, and a young black woman from my hometown actually made a speech at the 2004 Republican Convention. When she was asked why she supported Bush, she basically said something along the lines of his being real and upfront. First of all, it seems that she has the wrong impression of Bush. Second of all, she failed to provide any compelling arguments for supporting him, so it makes me wonder if she really knows anything about the Republican Party platform.
This is really making me scratch my head!

Not if the "black Republican" wanted more out of life than a public housing unit and a welfare check. The Democrats have taken the black vote for granted and if the blacks as a voting block are smart, they'll stop doing as they're told.
