Is there a diffirence between the DS light and the DS? Which one is better?

The DS Lite has been redesigned in many ways from the origianl DS. Most noticeable is the smaller, lighter design. The first DS is quite large and clunky and the Lite is smaller, slimmer and more pants pocket compatible. The screens display much brighter, like the newest version of the Gameboy Advance SP. DS Lite has had the microphone moved to the middle in between the two screens and also the power/battery light has been moved to the middle, right portion. The start and select buttons have a new location as well, to the lower right part underneath the A B X Y buttons. Also, the stylus has been redesigned. It is bigger, making it easier to grip and control. One more feature is if you don't have a Gameboy Advance game in that slot, there is a "plug" that you can insert into that slot so there isn't a huge gaping hole in the bottom of the DS.

As for which one is better, I can't say because I don't own a Lite. But the obvious reason for a redesign is to improve upon the original. So I would say that the Lite would be better because why would they redesign a product only to make it worse?

The only benefit of the DS light is an even brighter than the original's already bright screen. That isn't a really necessary feature.

the ds light is supposed to have a better screen and a few little other things. i really hope that it isn't that much better - all three of my kids have the original ds!!!

the ds lite has a betyter light in it., It is brighter and there for better in my opinion.

The DS, as I like 'em a bit sturdier.

One is slimmer, and there isn't a difference, like the slim PS2 and the regular one. Unless the slimmer one have more features cause it's newer.
