Some people try to rip you off. But it's possible to get some good deals. If you're a smart shopper. Have you ever been to a flea market or shopped at a roadside vendor's stand? Some sellers are out to rip you off. Others are legitimate.

If you've been ripped off on eBay, you have ways to get your money back. If you've never shopped on eBay, how do you know it's just a "bunch of people ripping you off?"

You can only get ripped off if you don't educate yourself properly. Most people that get ripped off don't look at feedback and end up buying from a thief. Education is the best prevention. Ask questions before buying! Don't bid unless you know the shipping cost ahead of time.

I've been on Ebay for 7 years and almost everything I got were bargains.

The whole idea of eBay is to do business with people that have a good rating. If they have NO Feedback, just assume that they are new or they are BAD.

If someone has taken the time to build a good reputation with 20 or more POSITIVE FEEDBACK transactions, they are not too likely to rip you off.

Look to see what kind of FEEDBACK that they give.

No,not everyone rips you off on ebay, personaly I don't shop on ebay, but my parents do. Of course people may forget to send you your item,or it has to go through U.S Customs, because it might be coming from a foregin country (depending on the product.) What you do is the seller with the most postive feedbacks are the best ones to buy products from, and are the
most trustworthy. The people with lots of negative feedbacks, you
don't want to buy from them as much. I hope this helps you understand ebay even more for now.

Good Luck with your question.

My husband and I collect Antique Duck Decoys, and we've bought almost all of our ducks from ebay.

It's not about being too lazy to shop.....but where in the world will I find the selection, quality, quantity and low cost that ebay has?

and as for big shippingand handling costs----I always check out the shipping cost before I bid. If the seller's shipping is too high, I don't buy!!!!

Well, if you go in naively and without proper thought on what you are buying, who you are buying from, you'll get ripped off. If you go in cautiously, investigating what you are buying and how much it is elsewhere, you can find deals. I bought a saxophone on ebay and saved over $1000 on it and it is still a great saxophone. You just have to know what you are doing. After all, you can go into Walmart and get ripped off if you don't know what you are doing.

ohhh, buy no means is it a rip off if you know what you are doing.
Great buys there. If you know what you are looking for and know the store prices, then shop ebay. It can about save you half of the stores cost. Its great, I shop at ebay alot.

I have bought quite a few things on ebay, one of which is a computer, and I haven't had a bad experience yet. There are a lot of reputable sellers on Ebay.Just do some research before you buy. Look at the seller's feedback score. Then, read their feedback. If a lot of it is negative, buy from someone else.
