It's the combination of a strong, passionate belief (a good thing, in my opinion) with a judgemental personality (can be a bad thing) and the view that everyone else must agree with you (very VERY bad thing).

Some questions provoke an emotional response. Religion, personal belief's, or even question's that may still be an open wound to some people. Personally , try to avoid answering such questions , but in my mind, thinking, you pontificating ,condescending, pompous blowhard, living in that 3 story glass house , I am getting ready to hurl a Colorado boulder . That answer is not logical, no factual basis, strictly raw response .

Well religion and Philosophy do go hand in hand at times, but you do bring up an interesting point. There is no religion section in Answers. I assume it is because Yahoo is not utterly stupid. Their lawyers are probably on double dose Ulcer Medication as it is.
BTW, if you haven't read the story I am currently writing on my 360 blog, you might enjoy it. It would give you an idea of where I stand on the subject.

Because being dogmatic and pompous is a learned behavior. People are emulating religious figures in society rather than Jesus whom was the greatest example of such things. So silly.

In the forum, I don't know. It might be the anonymity. Me, in general, sometimes I just have to get something "off my chest," before I go crazy. You know, you don't have to read or respond to everything that's written here. Maybe that's it; they are trying to get attention. Have a good one.

I think that the majority of the time, it's just that people enjoy trolling.
But then again, there actually are some morons who believe what they say as gospel.

They are trying to start a cult and have people join in their forum so they can see who to proselyte in with them. Great minds think alike is their philosophy!

It's a new forum for them. They've bored the crap out of anyone in their immediate circle so this is a brand new audience for them and they are drunk on the power.

When we can't control our own minds we somehow feel the need to control others'.
