Yes. Pirated CDs are often cloned from originals. They are "cloned", then they are exactly like the original ones. And if there are problems, they won't harm you or your system, 'coz who knows?

No that's illegal and against the linscensing agreements that game with your system and every game. Does anyone ever ead those? They say that the system and the games are not actually yours. They are still the property of Sony, Nintendo, Atari, ect. and you have paid for the privelage of using it. So when you say "pirated cd's" you have stolen the music or games because you did not pay for your liscence to use it. And, it isn't "your" PS2 it is still the property of sony. Don't believe me? read any listence agreement on the last page of any game manual, or the very tiny print on music CD's.

The inner ring of a genuine PS2 disc holds a code needed for the system to willingly load it. The loophole to pirating is a modchip, which tricks the PS2 into playing it.

It's not even fine to have pirated CD's!!! Yes, they'll play no your PS2, if they're even real. But come on, get some common sense you're practily tellng music regulater people "Woo, who! Over here! Take me to jail and/or fine me! I already confessed!! Easy target over here!" so it wasn't even a good idea to post that you have pirated CD's. But yes they will play fine on a PS2.
