ok--I have heard from 2 different people who also smoked that their doctor told them if they were going to smoke, to try not to smoke marlboros. reason being they are supposedly more addictive....something in the filter. seems weird as there are more marlboros in stores than anything else. hmmmmmm? any truth to this? and do you know why?

All cigaretts are just as addictive and the brand doesnt matter. Just dont smoke and you have no worries.

Funny thing is that the government allows tobacco companies to put a highly addictive substance into the cigarettes, its called nicotine. While it does exist in small amounts in tobacco, they put a whole lot more in it to keep you coming back for more.
I don't know about Marlboro's, when I smoked it was Marlboro Menthol Lights and nothing else, so maybe there is truth to it.
I had also heard a rumor that some companies actually put heroin in the paper. If you put the cig under a black light you will see some parts shining....that was just a rumor that i don't believe nor disbelieve.

I don't think that there is any truth to this. All cigarettes are highly addictive, many companies claim that their cigarettes are less harmful because they are "light" and have less tar in them. If one brand of rat poison claimed that it had less toxins in it would you be more likely to eat it? OF COURSE NOT! Rat poison is still rat poison, and cigarettes are still cigarettes. Marlboro is just a popular brand of cigarette due to advertising campaigns, what little boy didn't want to be a cowboy growing up, hence the Marlboro Man... My point... QUIT SMOKING!!!!

i only smoke marlboros.. menthols. but smoking any type of cigarette will be addicting, whether the brand is marlboro, or camel, or some generic kind.

i dont think any specific brand of cig makes it more addicting than other brands :)

Marlboro has a checkered history. They used to put traces of ammonia in the cigs to make them more addicitive. It wouldn't surprise me if they have sabotaged the filters.
