1. To plan lessons - meaning they need to use the state standards to teach you a topic..they need to find worksheets, think of a creative, meaningful way to teach it

2. To test for understanding - tests help teachers see what the students understand and what needs more work (if anything)

3. To keep students safe - make rules, teach manners, and make sure you know what to do so that you don't get hurt (mentally or physically)

4. To meet with their team (meaning all the teachers that teach you on the MS or HS level) - this is where teachers discuss students (grades, behavior, attitude) and think of ways to help them as well as a time to meet with parents (should it be necessary)
