Arkham Asylum: A Serious House on Serious Earth
The Killing Joke
Both are DC graphic novels, and I loved them for their violent rendition of certain scenes, particularly the one where Joker shoots a security guard for no apparent reason (Arkham Asylum: A Serious House on Serious Earth) and when he shoots Barbara Gordon in the spine (The Killing Joke) and parades her (paralyzed, semi-naked and all) in front of her father in a futile attempt to make Commissioner Gordon snap.
