My wife gets nuts if I smoke a cigar in the house. I confine the smoking to the kitchen, with window open and ceiling fan on. I have no other pleasures, and won't give it up. She doesn't work, goes to casino's, spends days on beach, goes clothes shopping, gets waxed, nails, etc. I never stop her from doing what she wants or likes. I think I should be able to at least smoke a cigar when I want. Who is right?

One question for you, do you pay the house payment? Yes? Well if you do keep smoking those cigars in the house. Tell your wife whats up. I smoke my pipe in the house, although my wife likes it. I guess it is a different situation.

I think you could both compromise and give a little here in this situation. Neither one of you is right here but yet you are both right. Why dont you smoke outside and away from her so as to not offend her or to hurt her? Maybe she could cut back on the casinos and going out so much and spend more time with you at least one day a week. You both may need counseling and help as well.

I smoke cigars but I don't believe in smoking them indoors. I even stopped smoking them in my truck because it smelled like an ashtray on damp days and coated the windows with a dark film that I was always washing.
If you have the money to indulge her hobbies then you can take the other guy's advice and add a den to your house with a good exhaust fan and big screen TV. Why fight with the wife. life is too short to be miserable. Compromise dosen't have to hurt.

And the reason you havent stopped her from doing her thing is because what she's doing is positive yours is not so she is my brotha

I can understand her position, maybe if you built you a little smoking room, one that has a place for you to relax and enjoy the cigar but yet close enough to her she will except it. Talk to her about it.

Tell her that is a great idea, as long as she gives up her guilty pleasures. If she isn't willing, keep on smoking them! She shouldn't get everything she wants with out letting you have something you want.

She may have all those other habits, but the fact is that you're wrong for exposing her to second hand smoke that she clearly doesn't want to be subjected to.

you have every right to smoke that cigar anywhere you like. she obviously does what she wants, and besides, its your house too ain't it. FIGHT FOR YOUR RIGHTS. don't give in.

if she don't like it, she should go to a different room.
