I do over 40 plus and at 50's it kicks in. Any suggestions apart from more water and correct posture?

It's probably because the muscles in your neck and shoulders are tensing up and restricting the blood flow. If you keep going, you may be dizzy, faint, or see spots in front of your eyes.

Stop doing the push ups and massage the muscles (or get someone to do it for you!)

same thing happens to me too....it's all the blood rushing to your brain...I really don't know what to do to prevent it, but I make sure to keep exercising, and it usually feels better before I'm done with my work out

neck strain? could be tension in the neck/traps/delts; stretch them out before hand.
