Does anyone know how to delete text messages on a motorola red slvr?

Maybe I'm being stupid but I can't seem to find anything in the menu about deleting text messages and now it's full up and I can't recieve any more.
I'd really appreciate any help/suggestions!

open the text message click options or something like that. from there you can see "Delete"
