I am confused about it bc i have watched movies where women were in this situation and it I just can't figure whether they still see their menses or not.I think if they don't,then it'll be easier for their husbands to detect foul play in case they try to pretend and lie to them

You do not get a period if the uterus is removed, no. Periods are the shedding of the endometrial lining (inside of the uterus); no uterus = no period. I'm not really sure how a hysterectomy relates to lies and foul play, but hope that helps.

You should unless you've had your ovaries removed, as well. I think it's cruel to have a partial hysterectomy! I've heard too many horror stories! I had cancer a few years back resulting in a complete hysterectomy.. took the cancer out, as well as adjoining tissue.. I've had no problems at all! ( and certainly no menses!) So if given the choice, ask about a total... (the "drive" goes out the window, so keep this in mind!)

if you've had your uterus removed, you will not have periods anymore.

the ovaries do not make the hormones, they respond to the hormones created in the brain. Your period is the lining of the uterus being shed when you arent pregnant. If you have no uterus, you cant have a period.

If they still have ovaries, they will still go through "stuff", because the ovaries produce the hormones. But please contact your gyno. for this important question.
