I'm curious. Since the rotary engine ain't gas-efficient, what kind of job and what kind of people would likely own such a car ?

I have an 1989 turbo RX7 and work at a call center ($11.25/hour).
They can be pretty good on gas if you keep it at low rpms, but thats no fun!

I'm 17 and I've had an 83' and I currently have a 90' Rx-7s. The gas isn't the greatest but after a few exhaust modifications it has increased. I work with a local company watching kids. You don't have to be wealthy to own one. Trust me, I would know.

For the RX8 I'd also add they eat oil like fuel as well (I'm not as knowledgeable on the RX7 very well could be the same). However, they do get at least comparable gas mileage to that of a Mid Size SUV, so a similar job that someone who owns a Mid Size SUV.

Enthusiasm > income. That's all there is to it. If you love these cars this much, you will do ANYTHING to save up ASAP for one. Owning one and trying to drive it everyday is a different story. Ask any other 7 owner.

like me! People that loves cars... but don't drive em.... coz of damn gas prices... lol!!
