Hi,

(No Malicious thoughts intended)

Following recent discoveries I have made,

Guys shaving legs...
Having facials done...
Having their nails done...
Wearing eye-liner/nail polish...

And many other things I don't know

Can you good people tell me are these people gay?

Or is this a new fashion that I have not heard of until now?

Cheers!!

Having facials done are fine and sometimes having ones TOEnails done is fine too since some people find it hard to clean their toes themselves. Using lotion, like sunblocks isn't being gay as you are just trying to protect your skin. This is just grooming.

A man needs to keep himself healthy and clean too, or people wouldn't want to be near you anymore.

I shaved my legs once, but only because I want my hair to grow back thicker, aside from that reason, that "dude" is gay.

Unless they're actors and they need to wear those or if they are goths it "ok". But those that aren't ...OMG that's just gay !! Some men put colorless polish just to protect their nails, and goths wear black polish to emphasize their being goths. But if a man is wearing colored polish ... GAY!!

Metrosexuality is no excuse either as MOST of those "guys" are actually gay or are on their way to becoming gay.

A clean man, is a sexy man. To me, eye-liners and nail polish makes a man look dirty.

Hope this clears your mind :)

If those are classed as being gay then my father is, he is Italian and has a facial, has his nails done, moisturises daily and wears perfume.

Most Italians look after themselves in this way and I do not consider them to be gay.Should men not make an effort if they want to appear desirable to woman.

Athlete's have their legs shaved to enhance performance footballers have been known!
Wearing eye liner/nail polish well take a look at the heavy rock bands, kiss, ozzy osbourne, guns and roses, to name but a few.

I say if guys want start looking nice and caring about themselves why not.

Even history had some of society's men wearing wig, blusher, and make-up no one complained then.

Been around for a while actually,

Metrosexuality is, according to British journalist Mark Simpson, the trait of an urban male of any sexual orientation who has a strong aesthetic sense and spends a great amount of time and money on his appearance and lifestyle. Simpson coined the term in 1994 in an article in the The Independent [1] after writing his book about contemporary masculine identity Male Impersonators: Men Performing Masculinity. Simpson described the effect of consumerism and media proliferation, particularly the men’s style press, on traditional masculinity.

well, throughout history men have done similar things. in ancient times, men were the ones who wore eye make-up (Egyptian) -fake hair (even today, but i mean the really fake looking, like the powdered wigs of the 17th century) -
high heeled shoes, beauty marks, corsets, jewelery(ear rings were for men more than women in early cultures)
so this is really nothing new. the British had Dandy's way back when, and this is about the same.
men want to look good just as much as women.
some women might like it, some not. but its a trend like all things.
it has nothing really to do if they are gay or not. some guys just take so far that makes it more noticeable.
heck, i remember when guys got perms and highlights, wore multiple necklaces with open shirts and WAY to much cologne.

I am a Beauty Therapist. My man looks after his skin well because he has been educated by me why he will benefit from healthy skin. He cleanses, exfoliates, moisturises, wears sunscreen and evern uses an eye cream. He waxes, but leaves his chest hair (gotta have some manliness) and I do manicures and pedicures on him.

Some men may choose to wear eyeliner and nail polish. They are either extremely vain, trying to make a statement (like goths) or just trying to be artsy and creative.

Yes some gay men do this but it doesnt make you gay if you do.

Anyway, I love a man who looks after himself. If you want to look like a saggy blotchy skinned man that looks 60 at 40, then go ahead and do nothing.

What if women decided not to look after themselves? Yuk, it just shows you care about yourself.

I am a beauty therapist that sees many straight married and unmarried men who look after themselves and get treatments from me. This isnt the 1950's anymore.

My hubby 2 b uses moisturiser and swears its helped his skin, personally I think that (within reason) its just guys taking care of their apearances. However, nail polish and eyeliner is maybe taking things a bit far! The last thing I want is to have to lock up my makeup lol! Bx

BUT he was NOT gay.so u cant really know.to me it seems like young boys have been spending too much tie with their mamma and they try to look as good as her when they grow up.lately it seems that more and more guys care about how their skin looks rather than rock bands or football!

Metrosexuals? Is that the correct name.
But they all are gays.
Romanian prince (or something similar) Vlad Cepes, or Dracula, was known as a person who loved to "put" people he disliked on a stake (starting point-anus, exiting point-neck or shoulder)
Maybe the old times should be brought back.

Gross, give me a 'man's man' someone who's not afraid to roll up his sleeves up get dirty, someone who rolls out of bed, splashes a bit of water on his face and runs a comb through his hair and that's his 'beauty regime' over with.

Pretty, high maintenance guys need not apply as far as I'm concerned.

Sexual orientation has nothing to do with it. I use skincare products (Bath oilNOT bubbles), body lotion, moisturisers, facial cleansers etc as I have VERY dry skin (my wife says I get dandruff on my arms if I don't exfoliate & use body lotion regularly).
