Probably the Dell. They offering some good deals now too.
One thing you should consider with a Laptop; think of what you need on the Laptop; CD-ROM or CD-RW? DVD? Wireless? Consider all your options and try to pay the extra to get this! Laptops are not as easy to upgrade like a Desktop. I feel it better to just go for what you want. Get the Available Accessories too that you need! This way you not want a Scanner (Example) later and it no longer available! I still use an Old IBM 770 with Win 98SE. It about 8 years old now and still does ALL I need from it. BUT, I can not get much for it, except on the USED market now. Especially USB accessories!

This toshiba in the link below looks great for value- only £450. I think you need to choose your budget first and work around it. Entry level starts from £300 and up to £550. The lower end is only good for work where the top end will do better with photos and film etc. Depends what you want to use it for.

I would avoid celeron but if you have a low budget you probably wouldn't be able to.

Asus is my favourite and with an AMD chip in it you can bring down the cost.

Macbook Pro 17". That way you won't have to buy anything new for at least 8 months. 2007 they get Leopard system D.V. which can switch to Windows on the same computer from within Mac OS if you have Windows too. It can upgrade to 2GB RAM so your DVD watching can be more smooth. After that, wait until 2007 and see what is out then.
