Why everyone thinks Depp looked demented is beyond me. If you read the book, Wonka was a recluse. He basically thought that people were out to get him by stealing his recipes and his childhood was anything but ideal. The character should have been weird and strange, which is what Depp accomplished.

I think Depp was absolutely wonderful as Wonka which makes him my favorite character from this movie.

I loved the movie. It's hard for me to choose my favorite actor in the film, the little boy that played charlie was really adorable. I think that Johnny Depp was a great Willy Wonka. Mike t.v was a really mean spirited character. I guess I'm going to have to go with Johnny Depp, he was pretty funny in the movie, plus he's really cute!

I saw the original as a kid and loved it. Gene Wilder was magical as Willy Wonka.

I saw the remake when it was released and enjoyed it too. However, I found Johnny Depp looked creepy like a S & M Macrabre Willy Wonka! I like the Oompa Loompa guy singing.

But my fave actor was the little boy who played Charlie - v.good and sweet.

i like johnny depp.usually hes charming and handsome but he was plain wierd and scay looking in this movie as if he was gay.his acting was good though. p.s is "W i l l i e" a bad word?
