India are strong contenders as do South Africa and Pakistan. India has a bunch of youngsters who are given lot of chances bfore the world cup. The bench strength of India is greater than that in the previous cup

i think australia because they are the strongest team in the world but india can give them a good fight and india could also win the 2007 world cup because india's middle order and the rahul's captaincy is very good and he can take india to win

INDIA can win the cup in 2007 if they sort out a couple of glitches and the extraordinary pool of talent sud be handled carefully.

Talking about Cricket Worldcup to be held in 2007 in West Indies, there's many favorites.
1st - Australia :
winners of last two worldcups still are the favorites. Anything is possible with strong batting line-up havin starts like Ponting, Gilchrist, Symonds. Also they've got good bowling line up with Lee, McGrath. They need to find good spinner to win the matches in Caribbean. they seem to be very vulnerable sometimes, and matches against South Africa and Sri Lanka ( VB series) are latest examples. Most probably they will lose in finals.
2nd - South Africa:
They will win this time. Have got superb batting lineup with players like Gibbs, Smith, Boucher. Pollock,Ntini will take front in bowling line up.
3rd: - India:
Dravid and company will have a very good tournament. They have most dangerous line up than anyone else. But sometimes they tend to return back to pavilion in a Queue. If someone makes the difference that will be Dhoni and Yuvraj (and Dravid). Tendulkar and shewag will have good testing time. India need to find good supporting bowler to pathan.(so far Agarkar and sreenath is good) Most importantly they should not panic at crucial points. Last time in finals, whole indian team was in pressure from very first moment. if they get rid of it, they've brightest chance of all!
4th - Sri Lanka:
They are very unpredictable. And have BIG players in their squad; Murali for obvious reasons, Chaminda Vass, Jayasuriya, Kumar sangakkara. They always come back very quickly and when it comes to important matches, they keep their cool (remember 96 finals) In 2003 also Aussies were in danger against SL.
5th -Pakistan:
Most unpredictable of all. their win depends on followings
(1). If they find good openers
(2) Afridi
(3) If Younis Khan gets out early!
They hav Attractive bowling line up with Shoib, Asif, Sami an others. but batting is yet depending on Inzamam (he had worst worldcup in 2003).
My personal favorites are South Africa
