by the way - a dolphin is a mammal, not a fish (referring to the category of your posting)

A bottle-nose dolphin's average life span is probably 20 or less.
They have lived as long as 48 years.
Aged is estimated by examining a sliced section of a tooth and counting the layers.

I dont know, but I would like to know if it is the same Shamoo (dolphin) on the disney world commercial as the one I saw when I was 5, which is over 15 years ago. If so he must be getting old. lol.
