In the specific case of footwear now several brands offer sport and comfort shoes with shock absorbing systems (e.g. Nike shox, Adidas a3, etc.). Is this technology really valuable? Is it worth to pay a premium price to have it?

It's not worth paying the retail price for it. I go to discount places that have the same stock for a fraction of the inflated price. Shock absorbers help prevent vericose veins if you are on pavement or asphalt for long periods.

i dont think the actutual shocks help u only look cool but they are good shoes for other reason i just dont see the point in paying over $100 for shoes when they'll just get dirty and i'll want new ones in a few months.
i would suggest buying some normal adidas ornikes (ones without shoxs) or waiting until u can find shoxs on clearence.

Personally, i dont think shox do anything to help you at all. Especially not enough to make them worth it.

Of course, it's worth it! Don't you feet deserve the best?
