Im going to 3rd yr engg. When is the best time to answer CAT exam?

Is it necessary to go for any extra coaching for CAT entrance exam?
Once u answer, how long is the CAT score valid?
What are the other national exams necessary to enter a good management college?

Well! i would say when you are aspiring for a management education, lot of factors needs to be considered. It depends on individual aspirations, which field you wud like to get into? and why? what do u expect from a mangement education so on and so forth. If you are a person who is keen on getting into the iims alone, i wud advise you to start the preparation right away, you dont have to go to any coaching institute, try to get hold of some materials frm any of ur frnds who are going, and study for 2-3 hrs everyday and be consistent and slog for 6-8months, attend the mock test offered by manu institutes this alone is sufficient to have a decent shot at CAT(ofcourse condition allies to all these things), yeah you can also give other exams like XAT, JMET, MAT,etc

U should start preparation now simultaneously with ur campus preparation.CAT score is valid for one yr.For ISB,a very good management institute u need to appear GMAT which is also valid for international institutions.If u are strong in Quantitatives,English etc then no need to take coaching because CAT needs Speed with accuracy.U can appear ATMA,MAT and also good institutes are conducting their own exams so see the advertisements coming n the newspaper it starts coming May onwards.

Do it in your final year..so that u can register if u can get thru!!!

Also..coaching is reqd cos they teach u stuff like time mgt..
