I need more detail to understand exactly what you are trying to do. Reformating your hard drive means that you will lose EVERYTHING on that drive. DO NOT reformat until you have everything that you need to restore the drive. This means Windows, Program Files, all application software, and all your files. Everything!

So you need to run a backup of everything on that drive. Usually this means copying to CD's, DVD's, or another hard drive, depending on what you have available. Then after the reformat, you will have to restore everything you backed up. This is much easier if you have software that creates disaster recovery backup files.

If you don't understand what I am saying, then you should get some expert help in this process. It can get very tricky.

I wish you the best.
