I saw the funniest thing when I went to buy a kebab once, there's a beauty parlour next to the kebab shop and this woman stepped out and went to get into her Merc, she had the brightest, yellowest fake blonde hair I have ever seen coupled with a super bright orange tan ... !!!!! How I laughed my *** off at that! And she was getting a lot of attention from the guys, then again, looking like a glow worm I am not surprised.
She had a nice face and a nice figure so she didn't need all that fake stuff but I suppose she likes the way she looks so that's all that matters isn't it?
HATE fake tan, it's artificial, it's orange, it's cr*p.

I use fake tan because I dont go abroad very often, but I like the colour I get when Ive been away. Im naturally pale, in fact if I dont wear makeup people actually ask if Im OK as Im looking a bit 'peaky'! But when I have some colour, I feel a lot better and I know I look well. Problem is, fake tan thats suitable for someone of my skin tone is few and far between an unfortunately, I have had some oompa loompa moments along the way!!! lol... Bx

OK there are now products on the market that no
longer make you look radio active! the fake tan is a wonderful way to get a colour prior to going on holiday.
Medical research has made people more aware of the sunbed(home to sun goddess's) is really not that clever.
People who are bit more keyed into the skin cancer problems are opting for Fake Tan most of the so called A list celebrities are using it as well so with their endorsement the x orange people are becoming fake tan useres.
Being tanned for some people is really important and they will continue to smother on the cooking fat and then simply burn the epidermis to look good, personally I think Nicole Kidman has got it right.
Is being brown the be all and all of life.

Because fake tan is much safer than a normal tan, and the signs of age wont appear as quickly!
Plus, you say this happened in England where getting a tan is not that common unless you go abroad.
Some people do go a tad overboard, though, I agree

I think people use fake tan for a few reasons. One, everywhere you look, you're bombarded by images of tanned lean bodies. And now, products are claiming to look more and more natural when in actuality, they're not. But people believe advertisement and they tell them they look great, and I honestly believe, that they don't think they look bad. Another reason, maybe they want to avoid the sun and other UV exposure, because it is really bad for you, but still would like to look tanned. I think they would rather look orange than pale. Whatever the reason, I think It's a personal preference, but I definately agree, the orange radioactive look is NEVER in.

Actually, I just went to a salon and got the spray-on tan, and it looks completely natural. No one can tell the difference. You have to find a professional who knows what they are doing if you go that route. But I agree, some of the tan products that you can get at the store are very orange looking.

In australia, sun cancer is a major cause of death so we are very conscious about not baking ourselves in the sun like we used to about 15 years ago.
Tanning products are huge sellers here - but I'm afraid you're right, some of them do have a terrible orange tint. Most people know which ones are good though and steer clear of the dodgier cheaper ones on the market.
I know what you mean - when I was in the UK, I noticed this highly uncool look too - one por guy had a bright orange face, complimented by orange hands

Hello, how are you. Maybe they just don't want to spend the time getting a natural tan so they just figure the stuff in the bottle is easier. Besides, some people with fair skin can't tan that easily. I hope this answers your question.

yeah nothing compares to a natural tan other than SKIN CANCER
I'd prefer to be an orange tint than have the sun ruin my skin like premeture ageing, age spots, wrinkles and then chance of getting the big C from over exposure to the sun but then that is a personnel choice
