My joystick is 16 pin , but my new pc hasent a socket for it. Is it possible to buy a convertor plug to usb?

yes, there is a lot of converter cable that converts serial ports to USB. Check out your favourite computer store.

I had that happen to me with other hardware, I think the PC makers do that on purpose so you have to buy more stuff from them.
