It happens to everyone.
You just like other people paying so much attention and believing in you. Nothing wrong with that.
About those other people who do things "better" than you -- don't waste your time being jealous of them. Learn from them. Be humble and ask them how they do it. You'll be surprised to know that they are actually willing to help you reach your goals.

Well for some reason, you're insecure. Probably has something to do with your childhood, but rather then looking at that, you need to buck yourself up. If you know you can do it, and your support system knows you can, then you can. So I have found (very new age, some people think a little corny) that positive affirmations work wonders. The deal is, truly you do know you can do it and the bottom line is you're the only one ultimately who has your back. The website below is fantastic in that he sends you affirmations everyday and yes he wants you to buy something, but he NEVER EVER even contacts you to pressure you . Some days these are good, some days I read it and am certain they were written just for me. And this is like a self fulfilling prophecy, once you practice the affirmations you feel better then you feel better, and you're more confident, then you do more, and accomplish more, and so on.. Good luck!

The thing about you is that you in high need of succorance. Don't worry, not only you have this need but all of us. The problem is that you are in great need of it.
Succorance is your need to be supported, sympathized and emphasized. You are in great need of this just to be able to feel confidence on your own ability.
Remember that not all times, people will be with you, will praise you and support you. There will come a time wherein you will be able to experience people that are against you and this might cause the downfall of your self-esteem.
Now, the cure. There is no actual cure as for medications for this. You may either undergo Behavior therapy for counseling or do it yourself through choice therapy.
Choice therapy is a technique in counseling wherein you emphasize that everything you do is a matter of choice. Your continued great need for succorance is your choice. With this, you have to asses your thought and think that you are the master of your ship. You have low self-esteem because you think so. Why not exhaust that belief with a new belief like "I can do this piece of cake." and experience better results. Try it.
I did use this and it worked for me. I hope it does for you.
Hope to be of help!
