Cow- 1 head, 4 feet
Duck - 1 head, 2 feet
c--- number of cows
d--- number of ducks
For the heads:
c + d = 9
For the feet:
4c + 2d = 26
Simplify: 2c + d = 13
Join the 2 equations:
2c + d = 13
-( c + d = 9)
---- c = 4
---- d = 5

Therefore
D+C = 9 (1)

2D + 4C = 26 (2)

Multiplying equation (1) by 4 we get 4D + 4C = 36 (3)
Subtracting equation (2) from equation (3)
