Infinite - Darkness is the absence of light, so once a photon has moved past a space the space is filled with darkness immediately

Darkness is not a scalar, nor is it a vector. It is not "a thing". It is not matter. It is not energy. It is 'nothingness'. It's not like what we see: a tiger, a photon (well actually we don't see that), a firefly, an airplane, a running kid, a ferris wheel, a planet, a track and field player--- rather is an emptiness of light. Take for example an empty field. The runner in the field has a speed. But when the field itself is empty, it definitely has no speed. Goodness has measures--- good, satisfactory, very good, excellent, fair--- but evil doesn't. Evil is simply the absence of love, the absence of goodness. Darkness is simply the absence of light. You can tell me to make the light brighter or dimmer, but you can't say the dark to be 'darker'. It is just an illusion applicable to reality. You can't really say 'cooler', because being cool is simply the absence of heat. So, darkness has no speed.

It makes sense that the speed of darkness is the speed of light.
Because darkness is the absence of light it follows directly behind will never overtake or lag behind. So whatever speed the light is going darkness is following behind (or staying ahead) at the same rate.

'Darkness' is simply the absence of light. Now you can't reasonably expect to measure the speed of something that isn't there, can you? To put it bluntly: the question is meaningless.
