A dot matrix printer is an old printer that produced its characters by making a series of dots on the paper to make the actual character. If you have ever heard one you would know it! They were loud, buzzing, slow to print and very annoying!

A dot matrix printer prints with a series of connected dots. A laser printer prints like a copy machine and is alot fast than a dot matrix.

pixels arrange the digits/letters. print quality is poor. but it is faster.
