To become informed citizens that, when the time comes, are able to vote based on items we have both read and heard through the medias of television and newspapers. You may be surprised to learn that Fox News and MSNBC give 2 startling different "spins" on world news. You may be further surprised that newspapers such as the Washington Post and the Washington Times do the same. Basically one side is republican (barf) and one democrat (also barf but not nearly as much). It's very very important to know what the world issues are and see what both sides (and a third side, the rest of the world) think. But hey, you probably live in America and couldn't point to France on a map with your Cheeto stained index finger. Read the papers and watch the news just so you are not the typical, lazy, know nothing, fat a** American who is complacent with letting his government make the entire world think he's just as ignorant. Be informed, it's your job, that's why.

newspapers are actually entertaining. they make sure to get the best stories out there to attract readers. you would think that they're all technical and stuff, but the articles are written at an elementary school level for easy understanding and enjoyment. a hard read wouldnt really be fun. also, other ppl check out the newspaper to follow up on current events that may pertain to their lives or to see the trends in the stock market that would help them trade.
