I love to debate current issues. Does anyone have any websites I can go on and start having live debates with people from around the country about current issues?

Well, what I was able to understand from your question is that you want to have a carefree talk with someone in a chat room, and for that you can approach anybody on the respective channels. But if you want a challenging debate on controversial issues with people who are skillful debaters, then try www.idebate.org discussion boards. It is a great site that can offer you topics for future debates if you search the database and can also present you with upcoming events in the field of debating and information on the various debate formats. So, if you decide to go pro, www.idebate.org seems like a great match.

Ever tried yahoo's chat rooms! (any one) if you say something they don't agree with (always cliche based) they'll debate with you!

They are NOT help groups by any means!

Example: go into a depression site, and actually be told to go kill yourself, while they all talk about sex!
