Please read the First Amendment to the Constitution: "Congress shall make no law . . . abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press . . ." I think this is still good law. Any law formulated to stop "yellow journalism" would also stop things that need to be taken seriously. We do have libel laws for outright lies, but truth is (and must be) a complete defense in a suit for libel.
