They were pagans, but really they only followed their religion very loosely. In many ways they were really atheistic materialists. To quite the Quran

"They say "'There is nothing but our present life,
we die, and we live, and nothing but time destroys us.'"


The primary deities worshiped in Arabia in the time of Muhammad were a trio of goddesses plus a male moon god. However there were literally thousands of other minor Gods worshipped in what is now Saudi Arabia.

Saudi arabia was the worshiping centre for 360 gods and one of them was named allah !!!

There was no religon they was taking stones like they are there god then mohamad came and teatched them islam
