validation is a big part of it - they want to think that they are attractive, especially to younger women.
usually in marriage, sex declines in frequency and intensity over the years, especially when there are children to take care of. men may look elsewhere to re-experience the excitement and passion that they had earlier in their relationship.

I have heard it said rather often that when many women marry, they lose interest in sex after a while. However, the man does not lose interest in sex and if he cannot get it from his wife, then he will eventually look elsewhere.
I don't believe that a man would love his mistress more than his wife simply because many men don't leave their wives to be with the mistress. How many men promise the other woman that the married man will leave his wife and it simply never happens.
As far as the sexual fulfillment, I imagine that the married man enjoys being with a woman who enjoys sex as much as he.
But I seriously doubt that many married men go out of their way to wine and dine their mistress. I expect in many cases, it is a matter of the two people meeting as "friends with benefits", and nothing more. In some instances, the woman is also married.
The woman gets the short end of the stick because the married man is going to spend more time with his wife and any children - esp. during holidays, birthdays, and special occasions.
In very general terms, I tend to think that men are more sexual than women - women look for the emotional fulfillment, but men tend to look for the physical fulfillment.
I am no expert in this field - just some of my thoughts and theories on the subject.

It is said that where there is a beautiful woman, there is a man who is tired of looking at her. Even if it was possible for every man to marry a woman perfect in form and character, the man would surely still find that he would eventually desire another woman.
There are many different kinds of love though- whilst a man may enjoy the sexual dimension of love with his mistress, often he will find that he trusts and is more comfortable with his wife. Sexual love is closely linked to desire, and desire and greed are endless- actually, we desire all things, and if we surrender ourselves to this impulse, then we will surely find ourselves deeper and more entangled in the world of suffering.
That's why not every man has a mistress, and if men do fancy women other than their wives and girlfriends, they often feel guilty. It's just a chemical impulse... the feeling passes.
As an honest answer, I'm not in a relationship at the moment... rather than get into a situation where I'm cheating on my partner, I'd rather just break up and start afresh. To me, that's the true test of whether I really want to be with someone else...

I totally agree with mikewolcott's reply.
Its true that women gets too 'used to' the relationship after marriage - that takes away the excitement and passion that men want in their women and in their lives. After a while, it becomes as if a crime to have passion/desire on ur wife (bcoz u r her husband-supposed to take care of her and NOT enjoy her!!!). Men have no choice after that. I am sure there is no other reason why a man goes elsewhere after marriage. This happens even in a very loving (but sexless) relationship.
The question is then why dont women understand this? This would (have) stopped many heartburns and make many more happy families.

Men look at women ,the same way a woman ,will look at chocolate cake while on a diet..This is not to say that the cake does not look good, but you are not allowed to eat it.Just like the man whom looks at women , he likes to look even if he is married or in a deep relationship, he is aware that he will not be having sex with them. You worry about trivial things such as looking, worry when your husband acts on another woman....

Sometimes its just for sex because in having sex with another woman he thinks that he still has the ability to get what he wants. It can also be due to the lack of sex at home or that he has got tired of eating chicken everyday and wants variety. And this does not apply to man only, it also applies to the married woman.

I seem at females at all times. I am now not evaluating them simply watching. It is flawlessly natural to look a lovely individual and determine them out. But that is wherein it has to finish. Acting on it or pursuing them is over the road. Discretion is essential. It is impolite and hurtful to be trying out different females in entrance of you spouse or female friend. Women do that too. My spouse has admitted it. I could believe that whatever is mistaken along with her if she did not seem at a sizzling man.

no not all the men are like that.....there are always this kind of persons even in female gender tooo.......the main reason behind this is there is lack of misunderstand between husband and wife........if they understand each other.....then this question may not arise at allllll

I have never cheated so I don't understand why other men feel the need to do it. I think if they love themselves like God loves them, they would understand the whole deal.
