In the Return of the King PC game, i can play only as sam and no one else. how can i play as aragorn ?

I finished playing as gandalf at helm's deep and managed to upgrade him to level 2. Now when i try to play Paths of the Dead, it says Aragorn is available but even if i choose aragorn the game starts with me playing as Sam. What is happening ?
What do i do ?
Somebody PLEASE help me ....

that happened to me once too. Its because of the crack. Reinstall the game and apply the crack from megagames.com.
