My older sisters were really mean and told me if I would put CRISCO on and go lay on top of our METAL barn instead of just turning red and peeling and then being white again it would make me a beautiful tan color like they always were. So I did what they said and got up on the roof of the barn with my alarm clock that they said would go off when I was supposed to turn over. I fell asleep because of course they didn't set it and over an HOUR later my MOM started yelling for me. I was crispy fried and had to get steroid shots every other day for TWO weeks and my sisters basically had to be my slaves while I couldn't move.

I had 3rd degree sunburn on my shoulders, once. I got it (and you should have figured this part out for yourself) by staying out in the sun too long. My skin cracked open in several places, exposing raw flesh underneath. It hurt a very great deal. You can still see the marks after 25 years (although they have faded a lot over the years).
It was NOT worth getting.

I got a really really bad sunburn one time from falling a sleep at the beach. I got sun poisoning too.(that means when the sun burn heals your skin has a green tint in some areas). Anyways, the burn was so bad that it bled in some spots. It hurt sooooo bad that I was crying. The marks from the burn lasted about a year. I had a second degree burn, so No it was not worth it. I don't lay in the sun at all anymore. I'm butt white, but I don't care.

Really bad I couldn't move and I kept throwing up for two days . I was vacationing in Florida and I would lay in the sun for an hour and then go into the water till my skin absorbed enough to dry it out then I'd lay in the sun for another hour and repeat the whole process the next day.... a good way to get a killer of a tan for a month and a killer bout of skin cancer in thirty years.

Was around 6 or 7 y/o and went to a family trip to somewhere that's 5 hours away by car from my city. And probably because I stayed all day long everyday in the pool exposed to the sun, when we got back from the vacation, I cried and couldn't sleep for days as my shoulders, neck and back skin couldn't bear a single touch from anything.
Sometimes ignroing ur parents advice could really bring u hell back then!

I got a sunburn while sunbathing by my pool. I slept, and when i woke up, I my back was really red. I went to the doctor, and I had a 2nd degree burn! I spent 2 nights in the hospital to prevent getting skin cancer. How worse can it get than this!?

It's not worth getting with the possibility of it turning into some form of skin cancer. My friend's skin blistered and she had it all over her back in a matter of being exposed for 3 hours in the hot sun. She was in so much pain she was crying.

I was in Barbados for crop over and I decided that I won't wear sunscreen b/c "i wanted to get a tan", so there i was in the HEAT dancing and drinking and completely unaware of what was happening to my skin! By the time it was all over and the sun went down i was red like a lobster...my shoulders were blistered..you could literally like see that it was FRIED! all these water bumps and everything...my face was burnt...everywhere was burnt everywhere....i was in a bikini top and a short pants..and everywhere which wasn't covered BURNT... i couldn't sleep on my back...even on my stomach hurt..it was bad...the peeling was crazy I felt like a snake....some ppl found it amusing though....apparently it was great fun to peel my skin off ;rolls eyes ...BUT
it was worth it =)

One day i decided to go lay in the sun and maybe catch more of a tan. I ended up falling asleep in the sun and my breasts have never been so sore in my whole life as it was then! I had blisters on my breasts and my stomach and my chest. It wasn't worth getting it!
