i've smoked for about 3 months now. and i'm loving it. my parents don't know about it, yet. anyways, i've been really sick lately and my parents are taking care of me and i haven't had a cigarette in 3 days. and i don't feel and urge, need, crave for a cigarette either. so is it possible not to be addicted?

Yes. It is possible, but only if you don't smoke. If you are smoking, sooner or later you WILL become addicted because your body starts needing those chemicals so that you can think clearly....
My advice: you've quit for 3 days. Don't take it back up again. Try doing hard exercise to fulfill you instead. It causes an adrenalin surge and makes you high.

Nicotine is extremely addictive. It is considered a drug. If you've had not cravings after 3 days, you should continue not smoking. You may love it now, but it is expensive and eventually you will get a nagging cough, yellowed fingers and teeth, your breath will stink and kissing you will be like sucking on an ashtray. The odor will cling to everything and change the taste of food. You will get prematurely wrinkled. People will give you nasty looks when you smoke around them, standing outside a restaurant door while they try to walk past you. The people in the car next to you will get frustrated because while you hang your arm out the open window, you are stinking up their area too. Flying anywhere will be uncomfortable for you because you can't smoke on an airplane or in a bus or train either. Hmm, did I forget any of the joys of smoking?

Oh yeah, there is the issue of mouth cancer, throat cancer, lung cancer and emphysema. Visit a cancer ward at your local hospital if you have any questions.

Did you want to rethink the smoking thing?

I have smoked for a long time and wish I could stop.I dont think you are addicted yet but if you keep on you will be. Stop while you can it smells, gives you bad breath, and costs a lot of money

Get out while you still have time, it's a nasty habit...nicotine is a very addictive drug and with time your body becomes tolerant to it, and craves it more and more...and then you become physically dependent...and always need a cig! and it's destructive really....so while you still got the chance...don't start back...b/c trust me...you WILL GET ADDICTED.

i smoked weed and cigarettes quite frequently for about a year or more.. i never got addicted and stopping was no problem. some people wouldn't be able to do that.. they're called 'addicts'.
