definetly. its less harmful than alcohol. and when you drive stoned, you actually drive slower, not faster like you do with alcohol. and you dont swerve and all that stupid stuff like alcohol makes you.
if you think about it, why have so many celebrities smoked it? or at least tried it? our kickass former president toked up. (clinton). dave chappelle smokes up. adam corrola smokes up. sublime, greenday, bob marley, cypress hill, red hot chilli peppers, james blunt, and many more bands some up. (with the expection of marley nowadays lol.. rip)
if soo many people do it, then it shouldnt be soo bad. ive been smokin up since i was 14 and im almost 22 now. ive never committed a crime, never got into a car accident, im obviously not stupid, i havent tried other drugs (cause people tend to think marijuana is a gateway drug. stupid people do stupid drugs. like meth, or heroin. weed is an herb, a natural grown substance. not a chemical) and im not addicted. if you look up online, youll see on the more noteworthy official websites, that studies have shown its not addictive. (www.hightime.com) people who say it is addictive are stupid. they dont smoke weed, so how would they know? i smoke weed. sometimes i go a few weeks without smokin a bowl, and i feel totally fine. no withdrawls, or intense urge to smoke. but yeah sorry this is so long. great question :)

Pot not legal because you would have to fire 1/5 the police force if it was. The paper lobby in Alabama would complain that hemp is taken place or paper materails, and the pharma companies would lose out on drug sales for anti-depressent medications. Pot should be legal because of the fact its no worse the Alcohol. Legalization of pot im for because I known people smoked weed that are 50 years old, and been smokin for 30 plus years, and work a job, pay taxes, go on vacations. Goverment drug war is bullshit for the most part, and the legalization of pot, would make it easier to use resources to tame meth use which bad for society and the eviroment. Alcohol leads to snorting from what seen more than pot. Last Updated: Friday, March 23, 2007 | 11:45 AM ET The Associated Press New landmark research concludes that alcohol and tobacco are more dangerous than some illegal drugs like marijuana or ecstasy and should be classified as such in legal systems, according to a new British study. In research published Friday in The Lancet, Professor David Nutt of Britain's Bristol University and colleagues proposed a new framework for the classification of harmful substances, based on the actual risks posed to society. Their ranking listed alcohol and tobacco among the top 10 most dangerous substances. The researchers asked two groups of experts — psychiatrists specializing in addiction and legal or police officials with scientific or medical expertise — to assign scores to 20 different drugs, including heroin, cocaine, ecstasy, amphetamines, and LSD. Nutt and his colleagues then calculated the drugs' overall rankings. In the end, the experts agreed with each other, but not with the existing British classification of dangerous substances. Heroin and cocaine were ranked most dangerous, followed by barbiturates and street methadone. Alcohol was the fifth-most harmful drug and tobacco the ninth most harmful. Cannabis came in 11th, and near the bottom of the list was ecstasy. I always thought alcohol was more dangerous to begin with.

If you could prove that the benefits of smoking pot far out weighed the problems then I would say put it to a vote. But from what I have learned from my experiences with it and trying to educate myself about it is that it's dangerous because of how it is cultivated these days. It triggers schitzophrenia and phsychosis and depression. It's a major problem here in Australia.

sure. instead of wasting money trying to fight the war on drugs, we could be taxing pot and attempting to decrease the huge deficiet of the status quo.
as long as the user didn't harm anyone else, why deny him the freedom to pursue happiness in the way he sees fit and appropriate for him?

Definately... it even has positive effects on people with ADHD. (They tend to have opposite reactions to various meds etc..) I for one, am able to focus, be productive and mellow at the same time.
I agree with the others... alcohol is definately more harmful.(4 years working in a bar convinced me of this)

I think it would be an excellent source of tax revenue and should have the same restrictions as alcohol. Be an adult, don't drive high and don't come to work high.

Yes. Alcohol is way more destructive, and pot can help you feel better when you're sick.
