Or to be more specific, how could one live with themselves after stealing from someone else? Someone smashed a window in my truck and stole my tools this weekend. Im a handyman and use them to make my living.
Please answer if you have stolen before. Do you feel guilty and what do you do to not feel guilty? Is there anything society can do to make it less common?

Dude, that sucks. People who steal from other people should be shot. When I was younger I used to shoplift like crazy. However, I never stole from a person or a small business. Even though I now know it was wrong, I justified it by saying big companies can afford it. Anyways, people are *** holes.

No I don't steal. I did once when I was 6 or 7, but I got busted and never did that again. Plus, I really did feel bad about it. I do know someone though that used to steal alot. She had to go to therapy for that too. She said it wasn't about the stealing....it was about the thrill of stealing and knowing she got away with it. You know, I think if we started cutting people's hands off when they are caught stealing, maybe people would think twice about doing it. :)

exactly know how you feel man. I parked my car in a hispanic neigborhood overnite and somebody smashed my widow and stole my radio . The radio cost $50 but to repair my window it cost me $160. I was extremely frustrated . Doing these kind of thing for a $50 radio?! Those scumbags needs to get a life.

well thinking about this
I would say the most common thing we steal is other people time.

if you come call me and I say I can't talk right now Im busy but you keep calling I would think that is call stealling
esp when it your boss and he expect a certain project to be on time.

or looking at porn when you should be working is one of them

to make thing eaiser I think we all should have jobs so we learn the value of money...

i am sorry to hear this. i never steal some one stuff ( instead of take my sister stuff without her permission) lol
but most of people dont have good education. they lost theire ways in the life. we should teach people to believe in themselves and love. we should teach them which earth is not poor and it is rich.
most people dont know what is the right way.

yes i did, once but i cant remember now what it was... at that time, i instantly knew it was wrong but was too ashamed to confess or return... i learned from that time on that what my parents told me about stealing was true... if you steal from somebody, you steal something from yourself: respect
