Can anyone tell me the effect of burning leaves to the alkalinity of its ashes?

I know burning leaves helps creates lime or pot ash. Although it would take burning A LOT of leaves to equal the concentration of lime that you buy from the store. Of course, lime is a base, so your alkalinity would become slightly more basic (or the number would increase on the pH level).
