That only comes out to about 8 mill. ticks. sold. X Men did twice as much business and it's not really a kids' movie per se.

Yes I must say that I am surprised that this year's Disney flick did not make as much money as expected. From my understanding, although the movie falls a millimeter below Disney blockbuster standard - as set by such films as the Little Mermaid, the Lion King, and Beauty and the Beast - it was still a wondrous family movie.

If you ask me, Disney has not made any good movies since the Lion King. However was in charge than needs to step back up to the plate and make another classic that will live forever.

Not when you consider that families tend to go to movies during the day when they are cheaper and you can take the whole family. Add to that the fact that children get in for less and you can see the problem. You make less but you make it for longer. Your audience size is not always reflected in the gross revenue. Xmen3 attracts an audience that pays full price but will die out quickly, partially due to the high number of screens it is showing on. Again cars will have group ticket sales so the audience size will sustain itself perhaps all summer. Afterall, how many childrens movies does it have to compete with?

Not really and I think they knew had no real promise and that's probably why they felt compelled to promote the s*** out of it . If you make it look like an automatic classic most people will think it is . Hope that doesn't give further conviction to conspiracy nuts who believe we're all being brainwashed .

No i think Cars did pretty well to get 60mil. I think it will end up being a top grosser for the summer. Certainly be in the top 5.

Yeah. Not everyone's interested in talking automobiles. Even the storyline's screwed. "More to life than just racing".
C'mon. Xmen > Cars.

The movie was for the kids, they do not care what it grossed as long as it was fun for them.
