Of course, JFK's assasination is a topic of wild speculation and conspiracy theories. So whether it was LH Oswald or not, what was the motive? I've never heard a plausible explanation of the motive.

Kennedy insisted on "doing the right thing", which pissed off a LOT of people, especially including the CIA (he was about to appoint his brother Robert as head), the Anti-commies in the Pentagon (he repeatedly canned invasion plans for Cuba), and organized crime - Mafia (again, they lost big when Castro took Cuba and they wanted it back, among other things, Robert was also prosecuting mobsters with a vengeance with John's federal backing). The federal reserve bankers also had an interest, as Kennedy signed an order to keep silver-backed reserve notes in circulation and had the marginalizing of the central bank on the agenda. Undoubtedly, Nixon and Johnson were both the largest winners in the Kennedy slaying, Johnson being able to appease his industrial buddies by escalating Viet Nam, and Nixon finally being able to take office. Nixon is also the primary suspect in two other killings of political rivals during their candidacy.

There are many different theories about the conspiracy surrounding the death of JFK, as you know. Reading the Warren Commission report will only frustrate you, as it's often viewed as a glossing over, if you will, of the many possible pathways that could have conceivably led to the assassination, and an attempt to placate a disillusioned American public desperate for closure on the issue.

One theory that you may investigate involves the CIA, as payback for the botched Bay of Pigs invasion of Cuba.

Another is that the Chicago Mafia, who delivered pivotal Illinois for Kennedy in the 1960 Presidential election, hired Oswald et al, to hit JFK because he reneged on his promises to them.

In sum, there are a plethora of theories, some possibly credible and some possibly not. Getting to the bottom of the issue has gone on for over forty years now...with several "official" stories and some that weren't so "official." Look critically at all sides, do the homework, and make your own decision.

Good luck.

You are right to ask about motive. Often, what happens after reveals the motive and then the people involved.

Effect reveals cause which reveals conspirators (sometimes).

The person who wrote about the Mil/Ind complex may have a point, but I don't remember reading that JFK was so staunchly anti-war. In fact, he's the one who really got us involved in 'nam (Eisenhower aside). May be possible, but chances are that the war would have gone on anyway. That theory is also typical of Oliver Stone who is a cookie cutter liberal.

He was actually really feared because he was far outside the mold of a typical president at the time. People actually thought he was the anti-christ. Fear is a prime motive, and there were plenty who were afraid.

Another motive was to prevent something he was about to do that we still don't know about. This, I think is most likely.

The only motive I saw when JFK was killed was that he was helping the blacks or the poor when in a way it was not allowed at the time. If you ever think about it; when there is president that helps the poor or even the blacks or even tried to change the government; someone wants to kill the president. Abraham Lincoln helped the blacks and he got killed....if you get my drift. Most assasination donot have a motive to kill a president. Regan was lucky but most are not that lucky. I don't know who really shot JFK but I think his motive would be that he just did for no reason at all so there was no motive in a way.

Beware the military-industrial complex, said Eisenhower as he left the presidency. Have you not watched Stone's JFK? That is the most serious indictment of a US shadow government led conspiracy. JFK was moving to withdraw the US from Vietnam. That would have cost the military manufacturers billions, not to mention the toll taken on military defense spending.

Once the catholic king was rubbed out, Lyndon Johnson went back into nam with jackboots on. And the US military spend has increased ever since...

They made a movie of how they were going to kill JFK.
That's the only way. A movie played over and over again,
until they got it right. Lot of people worked on this movie.
And it came to past.
