can someone tell me exactly what a localized dry spot is? how does it start, and how does you treat it?

Not really sure what you mean. If your grass has a brown spot in it, it may be due to grubs going through your grass roots.

Otherwise, just water.

Depends on what the dry spot is on. My dog gets them in the summer sometimes, and the only thing that helps is taking him to the vet for a shot.
