I think you need to be honest with yourself and bring everything out in the open. There are reasons why you hurt so deeply, the only way to ever move past it is to go through it.The first thing you need to do is to know your worth, that yes things have happened in your life as they do us all some more than others. You have to take it as a learning experience it will only make you stronger in time, sometimes we can help others through our own trials, its not always easy you have to keep going though.Drinking and partying or any of these things you are doing its not healing your pain it wont its a bandaid.Get real ,loose the crutch, try to find positive people to surround yourself with, then you will see a positive outcome. If you really want things to change it will also help you to know that,God is always with you even when you are not with him,I hope that you can find the light to lead you out of such a dark place,I know its there I found it so can you,you just have to reach for it.May God keep watch after you.

I think you've made a quantum leap as far as resolution goes.
Accepting that your behavior is some method of hurting yourself in an attempt to deal with emotional pain is really half the battle.
Tattoos are cool...but for me, not all that painful.
Before you work into something too extreme...could I be so forward as to suggest an alternate and beneficial "pain"??
:)
... jogging: good for the mind...painful as you want it...good for the body.
As far as drinking goes...it's true, you may be self medicating;
and It takes two to three days of no alcohol to clear your liver...about 14 days to get rid of the cravings...
Maybe in this "drinking time" - ...you could try the exercise thing instead?
The bottom line is to try to figure out why you're so sad
...or angry...and deal with that.
I really believe that we choose our own happiness...and I hope you come to a point where you can do just that.
Good luck!

well, there is no real answer to that question, I put my faith in the Lord, he helped me through my pain, and yes, hurting yourself does make yourself feel better, for that moment, and drinking will numb the thoughts for a while but not long enough... you need to find something in your life that you like, so many people dont see that at least attempting to be with the Lord makes things so much better. You've got to find your own way, i can only say what i did, and i went to the only person who could help me and that was the Lord.

yeah be an idiot that helps....go even shave your head that's even better than getting tattoo.
Only a simple minded person would do such a thing.
you need to give your self time to not just to heal, time to be measure your life with new standards.
how do i deal with my pain, i stay home, i sit on a couch and pretend I'm watching TV but in fact i go in deep thoughts and i think about myself and i try to figure it out my mistakes i made that resulted that..........
and then after few days i call the person i trust more in life and feel comfortable to talk to and i tell him everything and he only listens.
If you have that person in life...... just go ahead and meet him/her or call em.
drinking and getting tattoos is something that only cheap people do not you.

One has to learn to live with a reality. You are not the only one who has emotional pain my dear. Look around and you will find that lot of people have more sorrows and pain comparing to yours thus be happy that your are at least leading a comfortable life. Pray God and be normal. Live for your loved ones

Please dont do all that. The best solution is the request god's help. Become more spiritual. If you broke up with someone, try getting into a new relationship. One of the best ways to fight depression is MASTURBATION, Try it, believe me it'll work. But use it just temporarily , just to fight depression.
