My thumb drive got damaged. When clicked on the icon I'm getting the error msg - drive not ready. What to do?

Try to right lick on the thumb drive and use format. See it can format the thumb drive to reuse it. If not, then probably is the hardware failure and need to send to vendor to fix it if it is still under warranty.
