Brazil won the world cup in 1994. Before that, he had won this title for the last time in 1970.
If you add up: 1970 + 1994 = 3964
Argentina won the world cup for the last time in 1986. Before that only in 1978.
And 1978 + 1986 = 3964
Germany, though, won the world cup in 1990. Before that, Germany won in 1974.
Look: 1990 + 1974 = 3964
This could lead us to guess the winner of the World Cup in 2002, since it should be the winner of the 1962 World Cup (In fact 3964 - 2002 = 1962).
And Brazil won the world cup in 1962! (And, in fact, Brazil won the 2002 WC)
This numerology seems to work...
And now, who would be the winner of the 2006 world cup?
Let's see, 3964 - 2006 = 1958
And who won in 1958?....
Oh, Brazil did!!!

With some doubt, Brazil. Second pick(s): Netherlands, Germany. Note that I said "With some doubt." I have not the amount of confidence I had in Brazil winning in '02 for various reasons...
First of all, Brazil, in all likelihood, will play a tough second round opponent after drawing against fairly weak teams for group play. The easy play may ensure their progress initially, but may cast them to be caught off guard when they face either the Czech or the Italians in the second round, who would be just tested to a very intense level in group play. Second, Holland is tactfully superior to Brazil as are some other sides that lack the athleticism. I think this Cup would be a return to tactics, and, frankly, I'm not sure Brazil possess as advanced strategies merely because until now they haven't played together for as many friendlies and they haven't really needed much tactical advantages, whereas Holland and Germany have definitely taken approaches (Holland is very skilled in controlling the ball and making sure midfielders are in position and open up spacing and Germany have been incredible with passing.) Brazil have mainly gone back to the defenders pushing the offense, and no strong defensive presence, because of Cafu's and Carlos' roles in pushing the ball ahead. I do believe however that Brazil are too athletic and too talented...almost like having the Detroit Pistons of two years ago in Holland and Germany, but a partial Western all-star team in Brazil (if you follow basketball). In this sense Brazil is dominant. A last factor that casts doubt over Brazil's chances is their overconfidence and desire. I do not know how much Ronaldo personally wants a World Cup title once more compared to younger, hungrier, and more intelligent players like Ballack.
I would like to end these thoughts recalling that much of this is opinion. The opinion however is based on facts. I have not provided much of an argument as to why Brazil will win a World Cup, because that would be very blatantly obvious...take their preliminary performances: 35 matches, 17 goals allowed, and a remarkable +18 goal differential against such powerhouses as Argentina, Colombia, Uruguay, and Paraguay. They have performed at the level expected in friendlies as well without really pushing themselves because these are friendlies after all right? I mean they beat Venezuela, the UAE (8-0), New Zealand (4-0) without going on all cylinders. So there are very technical arguments why Brazil should win, but the question is more what are their weaknesses and so I bring those out to focus on my doubt. Otherwise, if all goes according to "plans", Brazil should be the winner and not just a favorite...

Brazil, because they have far too many weapons for any other World Cup team to deal with. They are beatable, but only if they lose focus, and that won't happen as their group has Croatia, Japan, and Australia. Those three teams are good enough to pose a challenge to Brazil, and they won't roll over just because of what the Brazilians look like on paper.
Argentina and Italy should be good, and I wouldn't be surprised if Mexico becomes a semifinalist dark horse.

I think the Mariners are gonna win the World Cup. When it comes to Hockey, they're the best. They've got a killer quarterback, an excelent striker and some awesome point guards. If anyone is gonna win the World Cup this year (it ended in a tie last year right?) it's gonna be the mariners.

Czech Republic.
World Ranking: 2
They have some super experienced players like Pavel Nedved, Jan Koller and the world's best goalkeeper, Petr Cech. They have a nice combo of younsters and oldies with experience, so yeah, they could be the winners.

Brazil wins again.
Why? There isn't too much competition. Also, no team wants to risk 6 men on one and that's what is going to take to hold Ronaldinho Gaucho down! Otherwise, the man is rumbling with tha'ball!
Keep your eye on that kid. he is the worlds 9th wonder, he is!
