Be confident. Tell them your good qualities that relate to the desired position. Give examples (proof) of these qualities from former jobs or school. Try not to sell yourself in one direction, though. For example- tell them you have great leadership abilities and you're a self starter, *but* you are also able to work in a team setting and under other's leadership when needed.... yada yada yada. You've got to be political about it.

Tell them any clubs or things you do that are interesting well like you are in the rotary or you are a Scout leader or You play classical piano or you Run a gaming guild or things that make you you and also attributes that might shine to help you get a job like If you are looking for management you can say I run the local Food pantry for your town or I make websites in my spare time if you are applying for a web job.

Well don't start talking about your family, religion.....Tell them about your education, your work history, your skills and strengths...something pertaining to the work you are applying for.
