Access the State of Michigan's home page. I am pretty much in the same boat. It is amazing how low your income has to be to qualify for anything. You may be able to get your health insurance paid for by the State. Rules are different from state to state though. Best of luck to you.

MY husband is on SSDI and we qualify for section 8 housing. This is housing for low-income families. I'm not sure what the policies are in Michigan is for this, but to find out, you would contact your local Department Of Jobs and Families Services.

MOST STATES DO HAVE HOUSING,THE LOW COME HOUSING ARE NEW OR LIKE NEW......SOME ONLY HAD T0 $45 A MONTH,WHICH INCLUDES ELEC, WTR,TRASH PICK UP.....CONTACT YOUR NEAREST WELFARE OFFICE( GOV ),YOU MAY FIND OUT MORE THAT YOU CAN REC' AFTER APPLYING......BUT THIS WAS IN OHIO......THATS PRETTY NEAR MICHIGAN....
