The one that gets me the most is esspresso.
people seem to say it alot with an x in there, like expresso. it really ticks me off.

I guess its really common in my country that people pronounce words wrongly. Because my country has different races and they aren't exactly born in a place where everyone in their family speaks English. Like me... But I speak English at home, except to my grandparents. They don't speak English at all.. Haha...
Anyway, my Mathematics teacher pronounces the word 'zero' as 'jiro'. It drove me nuts the first time I heard it. Well, I was basically trying so hard not to burst out laughing.
Another thing that pisses me off a lot is when you try to tell someone they are pronouncing the word wrongly and they just look at you and think you're a snobbish a**. Then they will start arguing that they're right and you're WRONG. (#*@#!!!
For example my physics teacher loves saying 'change' and I don't know why. And he says it like this 'chain'. You have any idea how confusing it is when he's teaching? Check out this sentence. 'You have to CHAIN the units of the number to get the right answer...'
I never knew how to chain the units. -.-'''

Well it's a bit rude to get pissy at people because they pronounce words correctly according to their accent when it's just different to your own, I've got to say.
I used to work with a guy who couldn't get the hang of the hard 'c' in the word 'accept', which was a word which got quite a bit of a workout in this particular office. Hearing him say 'assept' 5 times a day made me want to hurl him through the window.

When people use made-up words that have become common as 'real' words, like saying "irregardless of the facts" when they just mean "regardless".
Lackadaisical is often pronounced "lacksadaisical" which is annoying. What is really bad is when newscasters and others in positions of authority or public service (like teachers and politicians especially) say things wrong.

After though: ("...but I guess its kinda messed up when we get bugged by other people's bad pronunciation of words. I mean, they probably pronouns the words wrong because they've never been educated about that particular word furthermore it's not like they're trying to bug anyone...")

I know you're probably after common nouns, but it really annoys me when sports commentators can't be bothered to find out how to pronounce foreign players' names, e.g. there are still some commentators in the UK that pronounce Solskjaer incorrectly, after being in England for almost 10 years (it's pronounced "sol-shire", for anyone who doesn't know him).

I live in Ky and it really irks me when people from out-of-state say Louisville wrong. They pronounce it all wrong like Loo-is-ville or Loo-ee-ville. It's just plain Loolvull. Gee, if you're gonna say it, say it right or get outta town. People need to learn to slur their words together when they come here.

I think what bugs me is when people pronounce the word "Illinois" WITH the silent "s", so it sounds like "Illinoiz"!
What's REALLY "terrible" is when people who actually LIVE IN that state and do it!
