Too many rich kids with too much trust fund money? Do they need to actually work a job and interact with the general public? Do they need to need to get to know real poor people so they can realize why so many of them will stay impoverished and stupid forever?

Some of the crap I hear liberals talk about is just astounding. "Dr." Jeffrey Sachs's question on the front page is a prime example of their idealistic stupidity. Some of the colleges in America that are dominated by liberal academics, IMO, need to be disbanded...and there are many of them among the Ivies and other elite schools. I've been there, and the people are too pretentious and arrogant to actually solve any REAL problems.

I believe that calls for a revocation of their accreditation, doesn't it? It needs to happen...

You're griping, venting and snarking, but let's take you seriously for a moment, then. How would you reform academia? Yes, there are some nuts and yahoos in higher education. There's just as many of them in business - take Enron for instance.

Besides, what if the weird idea to end extreme poverty (the type Dr. Sachs is talking about ending in his book - where people live on less than $2 a day) just happened to work? What if we didn't have to send troops in to deal with the aftermath of another screw-up that left people homeless, hungry and without hope?

Point taken, there will always be poverty. Fine. But does there have to be back-breaking, soul-crushing poverty that reaches across borders to crush hard-working persons?

Yea, in the centre of the far right.

You're an idiot. I'll bet you come from a privelegd background where you've never wanted for anything in your life.

Get out into society and see how the rest of us live. You might see that some people need assistance to lsurvive.

But you would just like to maintain the status quo with you in your position of privelige and power at the expense of those that aren't

I dont understand your point. I know higher education people are generally Liberal, these are the people that go to school for 6 years. They usually have rational thought behind why the disagree with conservatives. So i think it is dumb to suggest because the status quo doesnt agree with you they are wrong.

What an angry bunny you are.

I wonder why you think liberals are all young rich kids who don't work? All of my left-leaning friends work, some of them at two jobs, none of them is rich. Actually, the only rich people I know are Republicans. Hmm...
