200 Degrees Celsius In Fahrenheit

2016-10-06 23:03:56 · answer #2 · answered by starkes 4 · 0 0

The equivalent is 93.3 degrees Fahrenheit. The Celsius scale uses 0 to 100 degrees as a scale for boiling water. Since there are more divisions in the Fahrenheit scale than in Celsius, the ratio is about 9/5 (that is there are 9 degrees of change on the Fahrenheit scale to every 5 degrees on the Celsius scale.) The decimal equivalent of this is 1.8:1. There are 180 degrees of difference on the F scale for every 100 degrees on the C scale. Hence the 1.8:1 ratio. Also, you have to deal with the freezing point of water on the Fahrenheit scale which is 32 degrees. So if you have a degree in Celsius, you take that number and subtract 32 and times by .55555. then you get your answer. To go from degrees Fahrenheit to degrees Celsius, you do the reciprocal of that formula: times by 1.8 and add 32.

So: Degrees F-32*.55555=degrees C
Degrees C*1.8+32=degrees F

Since 1.8 is the reciprocal of .5555555 and -32 is the reciprocal of +32, then also notice that the order of the +/- is also reversed, (Degrees Celsius multiply by 1.8 THEN add 32 to get degrees Fahrenheit, as opposed to degrees Fahrenheit subtract 32 THEN times by .55555 to get degrees Celsius.)

For you fraction buffs out there:

Degrees F -32(5/9)=Degrees C
Degrees C*(9/5)+32= Degrees F.

See, ain't math fun, neat & orderly? It could (and does) qualify as it's own language.

I hope this answers your question.
