Yes, you can. You can't get tonsillitis though.

My mom was told by my brother's pediatrician even though I had my tonsils out, I still can get it but it would be unlikely unless I share the same cup and utensils that my brother used. I never gotten it with all the times my brother had gotten it.

your not supposed to, because strep is an infection of the tonsils basically. once theyre gone you should be good, but the surgery is pretty painful as an adult, so i imagine that could feel a little worse than a case of strep.
